DIVISIONS OF PLAY

Easley Little League offers programs for T-Ball, CP Prep, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors, Junior and Senior League divisions of baseball. A description of each division offered this year is found below:

T-BALL

League Age 4-5

The T-Ball division is intended for our newest and youngest players with little to no experience. The t-ball division focuses on teaching the game of baseball and preparing players for the next level. Players will learn the fundamentals of hitting, fielding and base-running. This division is intended specifically for beginnings and will teach batters to hit exclusively using a batting tee. There will be no player evaluations for this division. The League will form the teams.

  • No game scores are kept. No scorebook is kept. No post-season tournament is played.
  • This division is specially to learn the basics of baseball while having fun.
  • All players will bat each inning.
  • All players will play defense each inning.

CP PREP (COACH PITCH PREP)

League Age 5-6

The CP Prep division is for players ages 5 and 6 who have previously participated in a t-ball program. This division is designed to help provide a smoother transition from t-ball to coach pitch. CP Prep will use the fundamentals previously learned in t-ball while introducing live pitching, fielding based on the different defensive positions and the rules of the game. There will be no player evaluations for this division. The League will form the teams.

COACH PITCH

League Age 7-8

The Coach Pitch division continues building on the fundamentals of baseball learned during t-ball and CP Prep. The game becomes more competitive as players are are learning a more structured game of baseball to prepare them for the next level. Batters will rely strictly on live pitching from their coaches. Players will receive up to 6 pitches thrown by their coach. A maximum of 10 hitters will bat each inning. Otherwise, normal baseball game rules apply. Players are eligible to participate in the Little League All-Star Tournament at the end of the regular Spring season.

MINORS

League Age 9-10

Once a player reaches the Minors division, they will likely know all the basic fundamentals of baseball and continue to build those fundaments. In this division, players will begin pitching to batters and catchers will begin fielding behind the plate. Players will also learn how to steal bases and the technique of sliding. With a few exceptions, traditional game rules apply in this division. Players are eligible to participate in the Little League All-Star Tournament at the end of the regular Spring season.

MAJORS

League Age 11-12

At this age division, game play closely mirrors “real” baseball. Players will receive coaching and assistance on an advanced level. After this division, players will either participate in the Junior/Senior divisions or their middle school baseball program. With a few exceptions, traditional game rules apply in this division. Players are eligible to participate in the Little League All-Star Tournament at the end of the regular Spring season.

JUNIOR/SENIOR LEAGUE

League Age 12-16

Players in this division play games on the full-sized baseball fields and learn new elements of the game not seen in previous divisions. In these divisions, base runners are allowed to lead off, pitcher’s are allowed to pick-off a runner, balks by the pitchers are called and there are designated hitters. Junior League and Senior League is a great opportunity for players to prepare for their school baseball programs. In this division, all traditional game rules apply. Pitch count is kept and days of rest is required based on pitch count rules. Players are eligible to participate in the Little League All-Star Tournament at the end of the regular Spring season.

**League Age is determined by locating the player’s birth month and year in the Little League Age Chart found here.**
